Stroke Club Hamilton

This club meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Tea is served in
the morning, followed by a short exercise program, a raffle and bingo. Click on the above link for details.

Stroke Club Social Group

This group meets once a month on the third Thursday at the Hamilton Workingmen’s
Club on Commerce Street Frankton, at 11:00 for a get together, share times together

Caregivers Support Group

The Hamilton Stroke Club Caregivers Support Group meets on the third Tuesday in the afternoons at a different venue each month February to November for a social get together, a meal and/or coffee or other activity decided by the members of the group each month.  Click on the above link for details.

Arts For Health

A community based organisation operated by a small group of staff and volunteers
providing arts and crafts activities at their centre, for adults recovering from illness,
injury and disability.

Choral Therapy Group

Choral Thearapy Group meetings for people with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions affecting communications to improve voice, speech and respiration are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from the fourth Tuesday in January to the second Tuesday in December each year at the St John’s Methodist Church 20 Wellington Street, Hamilton East from 10am – 12 pm. you. They select, deliver and pick up what you need.

Hamilton City Libraries

There are six libraries to choose from – the Garden Place Library housing the main
reference and heritage collections, and five community libraries servicing the
Chartwell, Dinsdale, Glenview, Hillcrest and St Andrews communities. Computers
with free internet access available on each site. Assistance is available on how to use
a computer.

Parafed Waikato (Sport Waikato)

They provide sport and recreation for people with physical disabilities in the
Waikato. Fitness Revolution group exercise one-hour class. It is held on Tuesday
mornings and Thursday afternoons – people work at their own pace.

Methodist City Action – Community Outreach Service

The St Paul’s Centre provides a range of activities, which include:

– ‘Brain Gym Plus’ to develop coordination skills for people with disabilities

– ‘Indoor Team Sports’, learning to participate in a variety of sports
– ‘Fitness & Fun’ to work on physical coordination
